Working T4

The T4 Transporter as a work machine

The T4 as a workhorse has essentially kept Britain moving for almost 20 years now carrying on from it's brothers before in the shape of the T3/T25, used for many, many uses from cash and carry workaholics, to custom built Razorbacks, cash in transit carriers, and everything in between without a shadow of doubt we owe a lot of gratitude to the T4 Transporter workhorse for keeping British industry and commerce for as long as it duly has, only being superseded by it's now as useful big brother the T5, which gain due credit elsewhere in this website for it's contributions.

Many main utility companies both in the UK and Europe quickly grasped the many advantages of utilising the T4 Transporters range of both standard vans, and chassis cans alike to mould into their own uses such as possibly the largest fleet user in the UK namely the AA [Automobile Association], quickly followed in terms of usage by our own Police, Fire and Ambulance services all making great use of the many variations available.

It was basically the same story elsewhere around the world with core utility and defence users making good use of what the T4 Transporter had to offer, mainly again in the form or Ambulance, Polisi and Fire services amongst the private and smaller trade users.

Of course we could not leave out the backbone of our smaller Builders, Joiners, Gardeners, and such like who all daily make excellent use of the benefits of the very versatile T4 Transporter pick - up range of lwb and swb trucks, again which have been bespoke made to suit many uses, least of which was as AA tow wagons, and as below dust carts.

VW also made versions in lower numbers such as the 4x4 synchro you see below in an attempt to cover every angle of the market with their product as they had successfully achieved with previous models.

From time to time some odd balls come along based on the T4 Transporter chassis sometimes made specifically for a single use, sometimes for a specific purpose, or persons use and sometimes just for fun, we have included a few of these below, to demonstrate the sheer flexibility of the chassis, and this is not including the rather large campervan, and motor home markets which..

We will leave you to decide which is the coolest however i know which one i would prefer as my personal motorhome.
