Wild-Camping is fast becoming an intregal part of T4 ownership with the credit crunch hitting us all hard many owners are now choosing to get away from it all in the true sense of the word, abandoning foriegn holidays in the sun, in ever encreasing numbers we are heading for the hills, shying away from designated camping spots, caravan sites as such prefering to pitch camp in a wood, or forrestry area.
If cleverly choosen your holiday could easily be every bit as welcome a break as any foriegn break could ever be, with maybe the only real difference being the weather, in Scotland in particular it's a real shame that we don't get high levels of great sunshine, as it would make our homelands a far more attractive propisition if we did, although then we would be overun by tourists leaving possibly not enough space for us to wild-camp for ths very reason i for one like it just the way it is, and relish every good sunny day we have using them to the max whenever possible, we have a beutiful contry and should use it as much as we are able to in a responsible manner to ensure it's about for generation ahead to enjoy just as we do now, as it is highly unlikely that the VW Transporter camper and other such versions are going to stop being produced anytime soon, our own personal bus is our holiday accomodation, our daily driver and family go anywhere vehicle which in this day and age makes perfect sense and will gaurentee it's survival over other forms of transport.

And why not, with absolutely stunning views to wake up to every morning, and no screaming weins running around or noisy amusments to content with, each to their own, i know which we prefer, with the sheer numbers following suit, it's fast becoming the way of life for campervans on the whole, the VW Transporter in all it's forms has always been used in such a way, popular with surfers and campers for many generations, looking for a quite existance away from the "norm".
The trend is growing so fast now that there will shortly be without a doubt legislation put in place to prevent us from doing so, it is generally as it is regarded as "illegal", but with as yet no constant moitoring of the situation we are happily "getting away with it for now" so in the meantime lets enjoy it while we can.
Look after our countryside, take home your litter and don't light fires and maybe we might get to enjoy our beautiful countryside locations for a while longer.
We have compiled a list of just such spots around Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales and into Europe for you to enjoy, we as a web site have not sampled all of these particular areas but have been to quite a few in our time, we do not advocate the use of non camping deemed lands for such use, and would further warn all to be as safe as possible if off, of the beaten track, use your common sense, if other campers are about stick close by to them, make sure you van is secure overnight an always fit a gas alarm at the very least as it might just save your life

[Gas alarm] Many different ones are available on the market, we choose a ??? direct from Just Campers at a cost of £??? although a tad more expensive than some others we liked the fact it could run on both 12v and 240v power meaning we could use it almost anywhere we choose, as it is as important if not more so than a fitted fire extinquisher choose wisely and don't skimp buy the best you can afford.

We must all act responsibly if we are to preserve our beautiful countryside, simply by observing a few simple rules outlined in the attached Countryside Code, we are all able to promote, preserve and maintain out countryside heritage for generations to come.
T4 Club UK recommends you do the following if out wild-camping
1 Always only wild-camp in areas where their are other similar campers present, not close enough so as to cause annoyance, but close enough so as to assure your combined safety.
2 Above anything else on your list to fit to your van/bus, always fit the best quality Fire Extinguishers and Gas Alarms money can buy.
3 Keep your keys and valuables out of view at all times where possible on your person or in a suitable designed hidden safe.
4 Ensure someone always knows where you arem, when you will be back, and where if anywhere you are moving on to, [ we personally phone home morning and night to check in].
5 Always, always lock all doors and windows at night during sleep times, and keep one exit uncluttered for rapid escape should it be require , [ it might just save your life].
Last but by no means least, have fun incidents of wrong doing against wild campers is rare in the Uk, however it doesn't pay to be complacent, if it doesn't look or feel right move on, we have operated under this premise for many years now so far without hitch
